Farther up the trail

After travelling about a mile, the Los Liones trail connects to the Paseo Miramar trail, which offers splendid views of Santa Monica Bay.  This view is looking south, with the city of Santa Monica alongside the bay.
This trail is located at the southern section of the Santa Monica Mountains, which is an extensive park system north of the Los Angeles area.  It's western border lies along the Pacific Ocean.  I never expected to find nature so close to the city when I moved here!
